Agent, Poet, Friend

This week's picture had the kind of dark ambiance that instantly brought a story to mind. A story that I wrote a while ago. Which isn't really very dark, though it does take place at night. The original challenge was to make the protagonist a poet.

Read on for questionable haiku, shady government dealings, and chocolate!

Ghost

purple legs, originally uploaded by Jenn Platt.
This week's story has almost nothing to do with this week's picture. If I really stretch I could say that the legs look disembodied. That's sort of ghostly. Isn't it?

The story is playtime for some characters from a much longer piece. Pilots, pretentious art critics, and ghosts ahead.

Red and Black

eye of the station, originally uploaded by Jenn Platt.
And now back to our regularly scheduled stories.

This week's story was inspired by this photograph. I took it in Grand Central Station yesterday when I was stuck on a chapter for another story.

I was going to write something about why everyone ignores the sign in front of the stairs. Instead I ended up with an explanation for why everyone is moving so fast. And a man with a red camera.

I'll leave it to you to decide what his intentions are.
